It is from this date that the historic territory of P\u00e9rigord became the Dordogne department. The Douzou is a campsite in Dordogne Perigord.<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Linked to its history and <strong>gastronomy<\/strong>, the term <strong>P\u00e9rigord<\/strong> has never disappeared. He remained associated and became a synonym for the <strong>Dordogne<\/strong>. It was much later and for tourist reasons that the colors <strong>green<\/strong>, <strong>purple<\/strong>, <strong>white<\/strong> and <strong>black<\/strong> were created to divide the <strong>Dordogne<\/strong> and Perigord into four territories.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.campingledouzou.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/camping-dordogne-differend-perigord.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2861 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.campingledouzou.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/camping-dordogne-differend-perigord.jpg\" alt=\"camping dordogne, les 4 couleurs du P\u00e9rigord\" width=\"455\" height=\"478\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our campsite is in Black Perigord.<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Located in the south east of the <strong>Dordogne<\/strong> Department, it is in the <strong>black Perigord<\/strong> that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campingledouzou.fr\/en\/\">the Douzou campsite<\/a> is located. It encompasses the <strong>V\u00e9z\u00e8re<\/strong> valley and much of the <strong>Dordogne<\/strong> valley. The black color is not associated with the famous <strong>truffle<\/strong> of which the <strong>Dordogne<\/strong> is the first French producer. It is for the density of its cork oak forests giving a dark color to the landscapes that the <strong>black Perigord<\/strong>\u00a0takes its name.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is the most touristy of the four <strong>Perigord<\/strong> thanks to its magnificent panoramas and the wealth of its patrimony. You will find famous castles such as <strong>Castelnaud la Chapelle<\/strong>, beautiful typical villages such as <strong>Roque Gageac<\/strong>, symbolic places of prehistory as the <strong>Eyzies<\/strong>, not to mention <strong>Sarlat<\/strong>, its chief place steeped in history.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The other Perigord near the campsite.<\/h2>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Purple Perigord<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Located in the south west of the <strong>Dordogne<\/strong>, the <strong>purple<\/strong> evokes the color of the wine. Its main city <strong>Bergerac<\/strong> is famous for its <strong>vineyards<\/strong> and is the second largest winery in the Aquitaine region behind Bordeaux.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Purple Perigord<\/strong> is crossed by the river <strong>Dordogne<\/strong>. It is also known for its <strong>bastides<\/strong> as <strong>Villefranche du P\u00e9rigord<\/strong>, <strong>Montpazier<\/strong>, testimony of the English invasion during the Middle Ages. Like the rest of <strong>Perigord<\/strong>, you will also find beautiful landscapes.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The White Perigord.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is located in the center of the <strong>Dordogne<\/strong> and crossed by the rivers of <strong>Isle<\/strong> and <strong>Auv\u00e9z\u00e8re<\/strong>. It is in <strong>white Perigord<\/strong> that is located <strong>P\u00e9rigueux<\/strong>, chief town and largest city of the <strong>Dordogne<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>White<\/strong> is related to the limestone rock that makes up its many cliffs. It has far fewer forests than its neighbors.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Green Perigord.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Located in the north of the <strong>Dordogne<\/strong>, the <strong>green Perigord<\/strong> takes its name from its vegetation largely watered by the numerous rivers that cross it. It was Jules Verne who gave his name to this territory.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Composed of meadows, forests, it is a hilly territory crossed by the rivers <strong>Dronne<\/strong> and <strong>Auv\u00e9z\u00e8re<\/strong>. The main cities are <strong>Nontron<\/strong>, <strong>Dronne<\/strong> and <strong>Rib\u00e9rac<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Dordogne<\/strong> is therefore a rich and varied territory. Each <strong>Perigord<\/strong> has its cultural particularity and a different landscape. The <strong>black Perigord<\/strong> where our campsite is located is the most popular and the most visited. Its many <strong>castles<\/strong>, <strong>villages<\/strong>, its <strong>gastronomy<\/strong> and the beauty of its <strong>nature<\/strong> make it a unique place in France.
